2014 End of the Year Survey

So I saw this on Bookmarks & Blogging and I decided to do it even though I'm probably a bit late.
So just like last year, The Perpetual Page Turner is hosting an end of year survey.

Number Of Books You Read: 57
Number of Re-Reads: 8
Genre You Read The Most From: YA

Best In Books

Best Book You Read In 2014
Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi. Or Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas.. Well. Loved them both ♥ Can't decide.

Book You Were Excited About & Thought You Were Going To Love More But Didn’t
Legend by Marie Lu. And before I get hate: I liked it and it was great. But I thought because of all the hype it would be better..
Most surprising (in a good way or bad way) book you read in 2014
Take Back the Skies by Lucy Saxon. I just picked it up because of it's cover when I was in London last summer but I ended up really enjoying it.

Book You “Pushed” The Most People To Read (And They Did) In 2014
Shatter Me trilogy by Tahereh Mafi all the way.

Best series you started in 2014, best sequel of 2014, best series ending of 2014
Best series I started was Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi. Best sequel was Heir of Fire by Sarah J Maas. And best ending was Opposition by Jennifer L. Armentrout.

Favourite new author you discovered in 2014
Rick Riordan. Because I finally picked up the Percy Jackson books and loved them.

Best book from a genre you don’t typically read/was out of your comfort zone
Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson because I'm not a huge contemporary fan but I ended up giving that book 5 stars.
Most action-packed/thrilling/unputdownable book of the year
Trial by Fire by Josephine Angelini. It was thrilling, it was action-packed and I just couldn't put it down. And as well I pre-ordered it the second I knew about it :D

Book You Read In 2014 That You Are Most Likely To Re-Read Next Year
Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi (what I already did :D) and Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas.

Favourite cover of a book you read in 2014

Most memorable character of 2014
Celaena Sardothien from the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas.

Most beautifully written book read in 2014
Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins. It was so funny and smart-assy written.

Most Thought-Provoking/Life-Changing Book of 2014
Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson. It may haven't changed my life but it remembers me of something quite similar in my life.

Book you can’t believe you waited UNTIL 2014 to finally read
Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare. I read Clockwork Angel some time in 2013 and then didn't had the urge to continue. Then my friends dragged me to read it and I'm so glad they did. Because since then The Infernal Devices trilogy is one of me favourites, mostly because of Clockwork Princess (:

Favourite Passage/Quote From A Book You Read In 2014
People aren't born good or bad.
Maybe they're born with tendencies either way, but it's the way you live your life that matters.
And the people you know.

-Simon Lewis, City of Glass
Shortest & Longest Book You Read In 2014
Longest was City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare with 735 pages. Shortest was City of Bones: Little Book of Quotes.

Book That Shocked You The Most
The One by Kiera Cass? Well I didn't see that ending coming..

2014 was my recommendation year so I most of the books I've read were recommended but the best (and not one I've already mentioned) was Slated by Terri Terry.

Non-romantic but Magnus Bane from Cassandra Clare's books.

Best 2014 debut you read

Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan just because Percy.

Book That Made You Cry Or Nearly Cry in 2014
If I stay by Gayle Forman AND Take Back the Skies by Lucy Saxon. The only two books I ever cried in.

Dash and Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn & David Levithan. Bought this on a whim and didn't expect me to enjoy it. But I did.

Book That Crushed Your Soul
Opal by Jennifer L. Armentrout. Kat and Daemon. And then the end... Just saying.

Most Unique Book You Read In 2014
Burn for Burn by Jenny Han and Shioban Vivian. It was... Unique.

Book That Made You The Most Mad (doesn't necessarily mean you didn't like it)
I got pretty mad at Adam in Ignite Me for several reasons. But it's one of my faves of the year.
